The Coronavirus’ Effect on the Green Technology Industry, Business and Industry Trends Analysis

The Coronavirus pandemic impacted the green technology industry in several ways. As ecommerce orders and home delivery skyrocketed, demand for lightweight, efficient packaging for product shipments boomed, much of it made of more environmentally-friendly materials. A key development here is finding ways to make packaging as compact as possible (leading to less use of materials, plus the ability to pack more shipments into one truck) and as recyclable as possible. The Coronavirus dramatically accelerated this need.

Home remodeling projects also soared, including installation of high efficiency appliances, energy efficient windows, insulation, home batteries and solar panels. The same was true in the booming new home construction industry. In addition, demand for improved indoor air quality measures, such as air filters, rose significantly at offices, warehouses, factories and public spaces.
