China and India Expand Film and TV Production Activity, Business and Industry Trends Analysis

Global movie ticket and TV advertising sales have been rising dramatically.  ComScore reported that global box office revenue increased by $1.16 billion to reach $41.66 billion in 2018.  The growth of the middle class in India and China particularly is fueling the construction of new cinemas.  In 2018, China’s box office reached $8.61 billion, up from 2017’s $8.06 billion (if calculated at the same rate of currency exchange), according to the Hollywood Reporter.
