Drones Save Time and Money in Safety Inspections and Insurance Adjusting, Business and Industry Trends Analysis

Drones are being used by a number of different industries to increase efficiency and save on costs.  Insurance companies, for example, use drones to conduct inspections for underwriting and claims adjusting.  Images recorded by drones can cover far more territory in a short period of time than human adjusters, and they are particularly useful in the aftermath of disasters such as wildfires and hurricanes, when insurers are swamped with claims.  Companies that have adopted the use of drones include State Farm, AIG, Liberty Mutual, Allstate, Travelers, USAA and Nationwide.
Allstate, for example, settles tens of thousands of claims yearly using flights, drones and aerial imagery.  The firm also expanded its use of the Virtual Assist program that sends vehicle or property damage via streaming video to an office-based adjuster.
