Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education, Training and Distance Learning, Business and Industry Trends Analysis

According to an in-depth analysis from the U.S. Department of Education (“Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Teaching and Learning”), AI can be described as enabling two broad shifts from today’s use of technology in schools: (1) from capturing data to detecting patterns in data and (2) from providing access to instructional resources to automating decisions about teaching and learning processes.  This agency particularly views AI as a way to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the educational process, while giving educators and administrators more effective ways to gather, analyze and act on data for best outcomes (but not as a way to largely replace the need for teachers).  
However, elsewhere, some analysts see AI as a way to replace or at least streamline the need for much of today’s teacher-student interaction.  For example, AI-driven tutors, based on generative AI, can answer students’ questions and do so in a manner that takes into consideration the student’s capabilities, learning speed, comprehension and current state of knowledge.  Corporate training departments will be particularly keen on using AI-driven tools to boost employee skills, knowledge, safety and job satisfaction.
