PepsiCo, Inc. is a leading global food, snack and beverage company. The company operates in four business units: PepsiCo Americas Foods (PAF); PepsiCo Americas Beverages (PAB); PepsiCo Europe; and PepsiCo Asia, Middle East and Africa. PAF includes Frito-Lay North America (FLNA), Quaker Foods North America (QFNA) and all of the firm’s Latin American food and snack businesses (LAF). FLNA manufactures or uses contract manufacturers, markets, sells and distributes branded snacks. Brands offered include Lay’s potato chips, Doritos, Cheetos, Fritos, Ruffles, Quaker Chewy granola bars and SunChips. Approximately 23% of the firm’s 2010 total net revenue was derived from this division. QFNA, which accounted for 3% of 2010 revenue, offers products including Aunt Jemima mixes and syrups; Quaker grits; Life cereal; Rice-a-Roni; and Near East side dishes. LAF offers a number of snack foods including Gamesa, Doritos, Ruffles, Lay’s and Sabritas as well as Quaker brand cereals and snacks. Latin American foods made up 11% of 2010 revenue. PAB includes PepsiCo Beverages North America and all of the company’s Latin American beverage businesses and offers brands including Pepsi, Gatorade, Tropicana, Mirinda, Mug, Propel, SoBe Lifewater, Dole, Amp Energy, Naked juice and Izze as well as ready-to-drink coffee, water and tea products under the Unilever/Lipton and Starbucks brands. This segment accounted for 35% of 2010 revenue. PepsiCo International, which includes all PepsiCo businesses in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa, distributes products including Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Ruffles, Quaker, Kurkure, Chipsy, Smith’s and Red Rock Deli. International sales contributed 28% of 2010 revenue. In February 2010, the firm completed the merger of The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. and PepsiAmericas, Inc. with wholly-owned subsidiary Pepsi-Cola Metropolitan Bottling Company, Inc. (Metro), with Metro as the surviving company. In September 2011, the company completed the acquisition of Wimm-Bill-Dann Dairy and Juice Company for about $3.8 billion.
