GROWTH PLANS/SPECIAL FEATURES
Ameren Corp. is a public utility holding company serving over 2.4 million electric customers and nearly one million gas customers in a 64,000-square-mile area of the Midwest U.S. Its operations are conducted through two principal subsidiaries: Ameren Missouri and Ameren Illinois Company. Ameren Missouri (formerly AmerenUE), located in St. Louis, Missouri, operates a rate-regulated electric generation, transmission and distribution business. It supplies electricity to approximately 1.2 million customers and natural gas to over 125,000 customers. Ameren Illinois is principally engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electric energy to 1.2 million customers, and the purchase, distribution, transportation and sale of natural gas to approximately 827,000 customers in Illinois. Ameren Illinois combines the operations of AmerenIP; AmerenCIPS; and AmerenCILCO. The firm’s other subsidiaries include Ameren Energy Resources, an integrated energy commodity company that offers services to non-rate-regulated generation, development and marketing companies; Ameren Energy Marketing, the power marketer for Ameren Energy Resources and other subsidiaries; Ameren Energy Generating, a non-regulated generation company with more than 4,600 megawatts of generating capacity; and Ameren Services, which supplies administrative support to Ameren and its various companies. Ameren’s combined energy capacity exceeds 16,500 megawatts and is generated from coal-fired plants, more than a dozen combustion turbine facilities, three hydroelectric plants and one nuclear facility. In 2010, the company established Ameren Transmission Company, a new subsidiary dedicated to electric transmission infrastructure investment. Ameren offers employees medical, dental and vision insurance; flexible work schedules; an employee assistance program; an educational assistance program; a savings plan; a discount stock purchase plan; and a retirement plan after five years of service.
