Industrial Gases & Chemicals Manufacturer
Respiratory Therapy and Home Medical Equipment

Air Products and Chemicals is one of the largest industrial gas producers in the world, supplying primarily oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen and helium to hundreds of thousands of customers and dozens of industries around the globe. The company was started in 1940 based on the idea of providing on-site production and sale of industrial gases, thus drastically reducing distribution costs. Since then Air Products has consistently expanded through internal development and acquisition to have a vested interest in more than 30 countries, supplying customers in health care, technology, energy, aviation, aerospace, electronics and other industries. The company acquired American Homecare Supply (AHS), one of the largest providers of respiratory therapy and home medical equipment in the United States, expanding its home medical services to more than 275,000 patients in 14 countries. The company also acquired Sanwa Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., a leading Japanese producer of specialty polyamide resins and epoxy curing agents with operations in Tokyo and Singapore. In September 2004, Air Products and Chemicals opened a hydrogen production plant in Louisiana with a capacity in excess of 100 million standard cubic feet per day. In recent news, the company announced a joint venture with Changzhou Shangfeng Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., called Air Products Shanfeng. The joint venture will focus on supplying TEDA for China’s rapidly expanding polyurethane market.
